Welcome

Welcome to Veterans Woodworking Workshop. Please read “About Me” to understand how the name came about and what I am up to in supporting fellow veterans.

I have loved Woodturning since I started in my dad’s shop many years ago. I also love teaching and combining my two loves. I invite you to try woodturning. It’s a creative outlet, and as we turners like to say “What was it when you started?” Answer: Firewood. Next question, “What was it when you ended?” That last question gets answered differently every time you put a piece of wood on the lathe.

If you like woodturning, great. If you don’t think that it’s for you, then try something else. I believe that we all have an artistic outlet…your job is to find yours.

Sadly, there are 22 Veterans that commit suicide everyday in the U.S. This is unacceptable! I feel that if each of us could find that artistic outlet or ability that we all have inside of us, whether it’s working with wood, clay, paints or music, it would soothe our souls – and we can find peace in that.

That is why I started Veterans Woodworking Workshop. It was to share my love of woodturning with others, both in person and now online. If you are in the Albuquerque, NM area, please contact me so we can connect. If you are outside the Albuquerque area and a Veteran, please, let’s connect and spread the connection in your local area. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
